Dr. Ofri explains how to find a doctor – online ratings sites are not always reliable. A good first step is -Check with your insurance to find a doctor who is in network.
Next she lists steps to prepare for the appointment. Establish goals for the visit, make a list, and gather any recent, pertinent medical records.

Thank you Dee, that is so sweet. I think doctor bloggers want to share what we know , it’s another way to provide healthcare, the reason we went to medical school. Who would have known we would have this forum for sharing our passion.
Being proactive is so important. We have to follow up on our own health and not just trust the system.
I agree Dr. Elise, ultimately our health is our own responsibility, not our doctor’s, medical plan, or employer’s. Guidelines, recommendations, and screening protocols must be individualized, based on our personal health goals.
