The Republicans, a new House, and Healthcare in the U.S.

Republicans are the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the next two years. That means there will be a new Republican Speaker of the House, who is second in line of succession should the President be incapacited.

Based on the results of the 2022 midterm election, Republicans are the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the next two years. That means there will be a new Republican Speaker of the House, who is second in line of succession should the President be incapacited.

It is likely any House decisions regarding healthcare will follow the views expressed in the Republican party platform.

I suggest you read the entire platform using the link I included. The party leadership has said they intend to update the platform in 2024, the next presidential election year.

To simplify the system for both patients and providers, we will reduce mandates and enable insurers and providers of care to increase healthcare options and contain costs.
